Mendes and Downey Jr. going to Oz?

Since the news reached all the corners of the internet yesterday that Bond 23 is put on hold indefinitely thanks to the financial woes of MGM, Sam Mendes has a bit more time on his hands to go and tackle other directing gigs. That’s why it’s no surprise that less than twenty four hours after said announcement that himself, along with Robert Downey Jr., could both be joining up on Oz the Great and Powerful, reports Production Weekly.

Ever since Robert Downey Jr. took on the role of the billionaire Tony Stark in Jon Farveau’s Iron Man, the veteran actor has been a very hot commodity and is now attached to several projects including the sequel to Sherlock Holmes, Iron Man 2 and the upcoming Todd Phillips comedy Due Date.
