Matt Tolmach on the Spider-Man reboot

When it was announced that Sony would be sending Peter Parker back to high school in the upcoming reboot, nearly every fan was upset. But /Film has word that President of Columbia Pictures, Matt Tolmach, stating the Spider-Man reboot will be different from the first three films:
“He also cautioned that moviemakers are in “a golden moment of technology,” with 3D and various other digital techniques at their disposal. “With great power comes great responsibility, and we have to always fall back on great storytelling,” he said.”
“Tolmach also said he’s excited but nervous about his company’s upcoming Spider-man reboot, which he described as “Peter Parker told differently.” He promised it will look, feel and smell different from the three films starring Tobey Maguire.”
This is good news since we haven’t heard anything regarding the film other than rumors about who will be playing the lead role. The reboot will be based off the Ultimate Spider-man comics, so it’s only natural it will be different.
The untitled Spider-Man reboot is scheduled to hit theaters on July 3, 2012 in 3-D.
