Marvin the Martian heading to the big screen

Submitted by Melissa Molina on December 21, 2009 – 9:54 amNo Comment

002Warner Bros Pictures and Alcon Entertainment are getting their little trojan hats on as they green light the live action/animation hybrid Marvin the Martian. The story revolves around Marvin coming to Earth to try and destroy Christmas, but his plans are foiled when he gets trapped inside a gift box (LA Times). Why is it for some reason I was some what reminded of Nightmare Before Christmas when I read that brief synopsis?

The film will be directed by Alex Zamm who’s upcoming directed work includes Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2. This is already smelling like all forms of horrible. Penning the script is writers Paul Kaplan and Mark Torgove with Mike Myers possibly circling around like a vulture to lend his voice to Marvin. No word on a release date yet, but if it’s on the fast track like the upcoming Yogi Bear movie is, then were looking at this more than likely coming out around early 2011.
