Marshall is set on Pirates 4

Submitted by Melissa Molina on November 17, 2009 – 10:05 amNo Comment

Nine director Rob Marshall is keeping himself completely mainstream as he hops on board to direct the Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films feature Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Here’s more straight from Ain’t It Cool News:

“‘Y’know, it’s something that I was offered and never in the world thought I would do but then I was like ‘why not?’… I’m doing ‘Pirates of the Caribbean…’ That’s right– Rob Marshall is directing the next installment of the ‘Pirates’ franchise. The only additional thing he mentioned about it was that he had a wonderful meeting with Johnny a little while ago and that they’re both excited to work together.
Although this particular piece of news has been a bit known for awhile, this is basically a confirmation of what is to come. It’s already well known that Alice in Wonderland actor Johnny Depp is already attached to star in the fourth installment. The film is set to release on July 8, 2011 which means that production will commence sometime assumedly at the start of 2010.
