Mandalay gets their Lonely Hearts
Mandalay Pictures is getting their hands on the rights to the novel adaptation of The Lonely Hearts Club. Producing the film are Mandalay Pictures’ own Cathy Schulman and Peter Guber with Scarlett Lacy also acting as producer. The story revolves around a heartbroken teen comes to the conclusion that most high school boys are total jerks and declares herself founding member of said club, refusing to date again until graduation. Other girls quickly join, taking the same oath and forming a movement that throws the high school into an uproar (Variety).
The book is written by Elizabeth Eulberg who has worked a bit closely with one of the hottest writers out there today, Stephanie Meyer. No word on who could be looked at for directing or a release date.
