Malin Ã…kerman denies The Avengers rumor
The sexy Swede Malin Akerman, better known for her role as Silk Spectre II in The Watchmen, is a little confused over an internet rumor that she’ll be in Joss Whedon’s The Avengers film. “I saw that [on the internet] and I copied and pasted it to my agent. He was like, ‘Where did you get this?’ He called the studio and it was just a made-up rumor unfortunately,” she told E!
Not that she wouldn’t be exicted to be in Marvel’s Mightiest Heroes film. “Maybe it’ll influence the studio to go ahead and be like, ‘Hey, how about Malin Ã…kerman for the part?’ But for now, it’s just a rumor. I don’t know how it started,” she joked.
No real definitive word on who she would play, since Scarlett Johansson is cast as The Black Widow and the only other female Avenger is Wasp. The Avengers is set to hit theaters May 4th, 2012. You can see Akerman in the limited release dramedy happythankyoupleasemore out now.
