Maguire as Bilbo?

Submitted by Melissa Molina on December 14, 2009 – 2:56 pmOne Comment

tobey-maguireThat’s right you Lord of the Rings junkies, there’s a huge bout of speculation going on that Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire might be donning some hairy feet, and that’s inching away into the true section. Latino Review reports that the actor is in early talks to actually take on the role of Bilbo Baggins in Guillermo Del Toro’s The Hobbit. At first this might seem some what impossible because Maguire is already signed on for Spider-Man 4 & 5. At this point in time The Hobbit is still looking for a studio to rest it’s head upon, so since it’s blatantly going to still be awhile I’m sure that Maguire wouldn’t mind re-arranging his schedule to his Middle Earth liking.

So, all of you LOTR fans, what do you think of this new development? Do you think that the baby blue eyed Maguire can play it up as another person of the Shire? Or should he just bury his head in his Spider-Man costume and go back to NYC?
