Lucy is a Bad Teacher

Lucy Punch continues to fill up her work schedule as she signs on to co-star alongside Cameron Diaz in Bad Teacher. The feature is being directed by Jake Kasdan, who’s previous directorial works include Californication and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. The plot revolves around Elizabeth Halsey (Diaz), a foul-mouthed, conniving seventh-grade teacher who pursues a colleague after being dumped by her sugar daddy. The new romantic interest brings her into conflict with Amy Squirrel (Punch), the school’s model teacher (THR).

The script is penned by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky with Jimmy Miller producing. Miller’s other producing credits involve the upcoming feature She’s Out Of My League along with Get Smart and Land of the Lost. Principal photography is set to begin for the Columbia Pictures movie sometime next month in Los Angeles.
