Lucas goes to Big Momma

No, not that Lucas, the one we’re talking about is Jessica Lucas from the newly revived Melrose Place who’s signing up to play the female lead in Big Momma’s House 3, reports Variety. She joins up on a cast that already includes Martin Lawrence and Brandon T. Jackson on a film that will be helmed by John Whitesell. Matthew Fogel penned the script where FBI agent Malcolm Turner (Lawrence) and his nephew Trent (Jackson) go undercover at an all-girls performing arts school after Trent witnesses a murder.

David T. Friendly is serving as producer under his Friendly Films banner with Twentieth Century Fox on top of the feature with distribution. Principal photography is expected to start up in April with a yet to be set 2012 release date. You can continue to watch Jessica Lucas on Melrose Place as it airs every Tuesday on the CW.
