Lost Akira Kurosawa scripts found

Akira Kurosawa may be gone, but his legacy still lives on in today’s cinema. His work inspired many great filmmakers such as Ishiro Honda (Gojira), George Lucas’ Star Wars, and even topped Jon’s list of top directors (here). Now, three new scripts from the director have been discovered.

According to Senkai Sports (via CNNGo), Yasuki Hamano, a professor at the Tokyo University Media, has found three scripts from Kurosawa while researching his book series, Akira Kurosawa Archives. The first of the three is called Youki na Koujou, and was conceived as a radio drama shortly before his directorial debut in 1942. The second script is called Asu wo Tsukuru Hitobito, and was a written by various directors from Toho Studios. The Last is called Kanokemaru no Hitobito, and wasn’t written by Kurosawa, but was based on an idea of his.

Production on Kanokemaru no Hitobito was scheduled, but delayed due to unknown reasons.
