Lohan still onboard for Lovelace?
While the whole media boom within the past couple of weeks blew up Lindsay Lohan’s name in the most unflattering way, we were spoon-fed the information of the actress’ legal fate either online or on television. Every other person yawned, rolled their eyes or flipped to another channel while this reporter got thinking about her upcoming role in Lovelace.
We reported earlier this month that the troubled actress was gearing her way towards a comeback not only with her role in Machete but with her grabbing the lead in Lovelace. For those of you who need a refresher, the film will chronicle the life of iconic porn star Linda Lovelace of 1972’s “Deep Throat,” and her subsequent transformation into feminist, anti-porn activist Linda Marchiano. Lohan was publicizing the hell out of Lovelace at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, and who could blame her? This sucker could potentially put her back on the map, so everything finally looked up for the actress until she came back to the States.
Now with the judge forbidding her from leaving town to go and film, forcing her to wear an ankle bracelet and subjecting her to random drug testing (THR Buzz), what’s to be of Lovelace? One could hope that it’s still in the baby stages of pre-production and that the court’s ruling won’t interfere with filming. Then again, if her lawyer was already asking if she could leave town and still act out the rest of the court’s ruling, maybe a June start is around the corner?
Regardless, questions remain as to whether or not she’s still going to be attached. Would the studio higher ups be too hesitant once more to keep her on board since this huge media debacle came to light once she came back? Quite a few in the industry have expressed that they can’t trust to put her on a film due to her reckless behavior. With her trying to get back on the acting circuit at full blast, maybe she’ll continue to whip herself out of those nasty habits.
Mind you, this is all speculation on the casting for Lovelace. Nothing is confirmed or denied at the moment.
