Locke & Key gets swapped around

Submitted by Melissa Molina on February 5, 2010 – 4:50 pmNo Comment

Dimension Films had their claws sunk deep into the rights of the comic book series Locke & Key for awhile now, holding onto the property as they dangled around the notion of adaptation. Now the rights have slipped out of the company’s hands due to money issues, and who is better to pick it up working as producers for the property other than Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, reports Latino Review. With them holding onto the rights, and the two knowing how to really push projects onto the fast track, this could more than likely be part of the latest large batch of comic book adaptations sooner or later to grace the big screen.

Locke & Key is a horror comic book series created in 2008 by Joe Hill & Gabriel Rodriguez. The series is about a family who runs off to their Keyhouse estate after they witness the brutal murder of their father. After that it’s a race to stay alive as unseen forces push the killer to finish the job with the rest of the family. No word yet on who is going to be tapped to pen the adaptation.
