Lionsgate is Expecting

What to Expect When You’re Expecting is practically the Bible for pregnant women that is apparently a must-read before they give birth. Lionsgate wants to put it out to the masses even more, but instead of the written word they want to make it into a feature length film. Lionsgate announced today that it has acquired from Phoenix Pictures worldwide rights to the screen adaptation of the bestselling book “What to Expect When You’re Expecting,” by Heidi Murkoff, reported Coming Soon.

Murkoff will be serving as executive producer with Doug McKay, David Thwaites, Arnie Messer and Mike Medavoy under Phoenix Pictures. Penning the adaptation will be scribe Heather Hach who wrote scripts such as Freaky Friday and Legally Blonde: The Musical. No word on who will be directing or starring in the picture at this point in time.
