Lionsgate gets an Abduction
Lionsgate swoops in once again to tuck another film into their distribution library, this one being the Taylor Lautner starring feature Abduction. The thriller script, written by Shawn Christensen, was tossed around until Lionsgate made the final grab. The story, based on an idea by Gotham Group’s Jeremy Bell, is focused on a young man who discovers his own baby picture on a missing persons website. Project was developed on spec by Gotham Group and Vertigo (Variety).
The picture is being produced by Lee Stollman and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein under Gotham Group. Adding onto the list of producers is Doug Davison, Roy Lee and Dan Lautner. No word yet on when they plan to shoot the film, but if soon then they more than likely will have to try to weave around Lautner’s other projects which include Stretch Armstrong, Breaking Dawn, Cancun and Max Steel. Luckily, three of those projects are in development so it’s just a matter of which one takes the most priority in the actor’s schedule.
