Lerman going from Greek god to Superhero?
Logan Lerman, star of the upcoming fantasy tale Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief revealed earlier today that he’s in the middle of talks to star as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the reboot of the popular Sony Pictures comic book franchise Spider-Man. After much controversy over the fate of Spider-Man 4, Sony decided to go and reboot the entire franchise so now they’re knee deep in the hunt to find a bunch of younger looking people to fill the roles that were once taken by the likes of Tobey Maguire, Kristen Dunst and James Franco.
Here’s a little more of what the young star said about the negotiations to Access Hollywood.:
“It’s one of my favorite characters ever and I’m a huge fan of the series,” he continued. “I’d love to have more conversations about it. I’m definitely very interested in it.”
“It’s just, you know, conversations are starting. It’s a long process with the studio and the producers and everything. But it’s definitely a project that I’m really interested in, of course,” he told Billy. “I’d love to focus on the human element a little bit more. It’d be such a fun experience.”
Since he’s come out to tell us that he’s working on trying to become the web-slinger, that means Sony Pictures is definitely on the fast track making sure that they have their film already started up by 2011. Now one wonders not only who will helm the picture but who else will be casted for this strange Marvel reboot.
