Legendary Pictures grabs Pacific Rim
Legendary Pictures swoops in and makes a pretty impressive deal as they acquire Pacific Rim. Dog Days of Summer and Clash of the Titans remake writer Travis Beacham put together the treatment that caught the company’s interest. The story is set in a future in which malevolent creatures threaten the earth, the planet must band together and use highly advanced technology to eradicate the growing menace (Deadline).
Not only is Beacham busy at work with writing 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, but the scribe is attached to put together a script for The Black Hole remake. Legendary Pictures has quite a few films on it’s slate for release, especially for this summer. Inception and Jonah Hex are both under their belt, which can lead for a very fruitful revenue summer at least for one of them.
