Le Sauvage gets polished up
Le Sauvage is the latest foreign film that’s getting the overseas remake treatment as Studio Canal and Abandon Pictures chat it up to possibly do an updated version of the French romantic comedy, says Variety. Unlike some other remakes, this one is on a film that was released back in 1975 that was directed by Jean-Paul Rappeneau.
Caracas, Venezuela. Just after her engagement with Vittorio, Nelly runs away from him. As he pursued her, she looks for help to Martin, a French middle-aged man she met by accident. He helps her to escape and drives her to the airport and gives her a plane ticker to Paris. Then he thinks he can go back to his peaceful lonely life on his island, but is wrong.
The film will end up being produced by Karen Lauder and Lizzie Friedman. Another company that’s also set to be attached for sales is William Morris Endeavor Entertainment.
