Laurence Belcher will be a young Charles Xavier
It was reported back in late June that Twentieth Century Fox was looking to cast an even younger version of Charles Xavier in Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class. It was widely assumed that an actor would be signed on shortly before production began, but that wasn’t the case. However, Bleeding Cool now reports that Laurence Belcher has signed on for the part.
You probably haven’t heard of him, and that’s because Belcher has no acting experience. However, the role will likely be brief, with him only being used for flashbacks. You will be able to see Belcher in the Doctor Who Christmas Special as a young Kazran.
X-Men: First Class will open on June 3, 2011.

Well, I saw him in Messengers 2, The Shadow Within and Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol and he blew me away with his performances, especially in Doctor Who. If you haven’t seen that Christmas special, you really should because he was stellar in that one, on par with Sir Michael Gambon if not better.
