Kick-Ass 2 could begin in nine months
Yesterday, Mark Millar announced that Kick-Ass 2 has been green-lit. No date was announced when production would begin, and given that Matthew Vaughn is busy with X-men: First Class, it could be awhile. However, Millar now claims that production on the film would begin not long after Vaughn is done with that film.
Millar spoke with MTV Splash Page, and told them that production could begin in about nine months. “We’re probably about nine months away from production starting, at the earliest, because Matthew [Vaughn]’s got to do ‘X-Men: First Class,” Millar said. The plan is to go straight into the sequel afterwards. “Matthew just wants to get ‘X-Men’ done next year then hopefully we’ll just go straight into ‘Kick-Ass 2,’ that’s the plan,” he said.
While Kick-Ass 2 will certainly happening on part of the money the first made, Millar is also making the sequel because  “all desperately want to do a sequel,” Millar said. One problem that Kick-Ass 2 may be facing is the growth of it’s actors, and he wants to get a sequel going before they get too old. “That’s something that could potentially be problematic for ‘Kick-Ass,’” he said.As for what you can expect to see in the sequel, Millar says “it’s got everything from the first movie just getting bigger.”
