Johnson dishes out the Protection
Dwayne Johnson is making his way out of sissy roles and back into action as he signs on be in Protection. The picture has yet to keep a director onboard, the last one rumored to be attached was Patrick Alessandrin. Clive Owen was originally set to take this lead role but dropped out for unknown reasons at this time.
The script by Brandon Noonan follows a disgraced former Special Forces soldier who takes on a Mexican cartel in an attempt to rescue and protect a judge’s 21 year-old daughter, who has been targeted by the cartel for agreeing to testify against one of its members after she witnesses her father’s murder (The Wrap).
Johnson seems to be gradually redeeming himself with the oncoming slew of awesome action-like roles that are coming his way. The former WWE wrestler is expected to appear in The Other Guys (August 6th) and Faster (November 19th).
