John Malkovich talks Transformers 3 role
Michael Bay may not make the best of movies, but one thing he’s good at is bringing together a great cast. While a few regulars will be returning for Transformers 3, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Patrick Dempsey, and John Malkovich will be new to the series. Characters for Dempsey and Whiteley have already been revealed, but nothing has been heard about Malkovich’s role in the film.
Malkovich recently revealed (via Hitfix) that he’ll be playing Sam Witwicky’s (Shia Lebeouf) boss at his new job. Malkovich described his character as “loudmouth” and a “jerk”. He was also present for only one day of shooting during Bay’s time in Chicago, and reportedly had a ”very, very enjoyable time” filming with John Tutorro and the others. From the sound of things it seems like his role will be more or less a cameo, but for him “it was a blast”. Malkovich has already completed his work on Transformers 3, but the rest of the crew is currently filming in Florida.
Transformers 3 will open on July 1, 2011.

Thought Dempsey’s role was dropped after Megan Fox left the series.

No. Dempsey is still in the same role, but will now be the boss of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s character, Carly.
