Joe Carnahan talks The A-Team

Director Joe Carnahan recently spoke to The Wall Street Journal about The A-Team and it’s Box Office failure. The film managed to gross $77 million domestically, the film cost $110 million to make.

f I had a nickel for every time someone, especially women, came up to me and said they were dragged to the film but ended up liking it. That’s how you know you blew it. And we blew it. Hopefully, we can make it up and find the audience the film should have found during the summer on Blu-ray and DVD. Fingers crossed.

He also mentioned this about a possible sequel: “I think a large degree of it depends on how it does in this [DVD/Blu-ray] realm. We kind of fell victim to a marketing mistep in that there wasn’t necessarily an understanding of what the show was. We didn’t do an adequate enough job of telling people what the movie was, if you know what I mean.

Carnahan is re-teaming with Liam Neeson for The Grey, which is a thriller. It was originally cast with Bradley Cooper in the role, however there were scheduling conflicts which caused re-casting for that role.
