Jennifer Aniston to Produce New Film “Holler”
Jennifer Aniston and Screen Gems will be working together on a new film called “Holler” (aka Mutt), written by Dana Adam Shapiro. The story, inspired by true events, focuses on a biracial teen who moves with his mother to her hometown in Mississippi. As prom season arrives, he finds that the white girl he likes cannot be his date at the segregated event. He soon becomes the center of a movement to change not only the prom but the school and town.
The film will be produced by Aniston’s partner at Echo Films, Krisin Hahn, along with Tracy Durning. Aniston will executive produce with Jeff Mandell. HBO recently aired a documentary on the subject entitled “Prom Night in Mississippi.”
