Jamie Bell to be Spider-Man?
That’s what Bleeding Cool is saying, as they report that The Adventures of Tintin star Jamie Bell is set to play the wall-crawler in the upcoming remake from Sony Pictures. Mind you, this is nothing but speculation at the moment, though it would be an interesting choice. He is the right age that one would expect the new Peter Parker/Spider-Man to be since they want to keep him in high school for a majority of the film this time around. If he is actually our web-slinging Marvel superhero, then that means he’ll be attached to two possible film franchises.
Post-production is underway for the Steven Spielberg directed feature The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. The family adventure film is slated for release on December 23rd, 2011. You’ll be seeing a lot more of Bell this next year, because not only is he in Tintin but he’ll also appear in The Eagle of the Ninth and Jane Eyre.
Shocked that they are going with a great actor for the role. Bell gets me excited in this movie. Really thought the boring Hutcherson was going to be cast.
