James Marsden signs to star in Staw Dogs remake

Submitted by Daniel Herrera on April 23, 2009 – 2:58 pmNo Comment

I will admit I had not heard of the news that Straw Dogs would be remade, and quite frankly, it is still settling in with me, whether I can agree if this is a good thing or not.  The first film was done by master film maker Sam Peckinpah and will now be remade by Rod Lurie, whose previous credits include Nothing But the Truth and The Contender.  Lurie himself is a talented film maker, and it will be interesting to see how the film comes out in the the end, it is surprising though that X-Men star James Marsden has signed on for the title role first played brilliantly by Dustin Hoffman.   The original film was  a dark and violent film, worthy of its praise and controversy, and we can just hope that the films remake maintains the same raw power as the original.
