Jaime Foxx writing Laverne & Shirley

At first you’d think this is some sort of pre-April Fools Day article, but alas it is not. Jamie Foxx, as cofirmed by TV Guide (via CS!) when Garry Marshall made it known to the public. Here’s exactly what the director said on the topic.:

“Jamie and I are trying to do it,” Garry confirms. “He’s writing it. It’s a whole different modern day take on how they came up on the streets during difficult times. Laverne would be this very tough girl with a big ‘L’ tattooed on her arm. Jennifer Garner would play Laverne and Jessica Biel would play Shirley.”

Foxx does have some writing credits under his belt, believe it or not, mainly with episodic sitcoms like The Jamie Foxx Show and a little dabble in reality television with From G’s to Gents. Another thing is for certain, and that’s the supposed rumor that Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel would end up playing the two lead roles in this television sitcom turned feature is true.

In the acting department, Foxx already wrapped up filming his role in the upcoming Todd Phillips feature Due Date which stars Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis. He’s set to play one of the lead roles in the video game adapted feature of Kane & Lynch.

I've been in love with film ever since I was a kid. The time, effort and passion that runs through a majority most film is something that's always attracted me to this field. What ended up happening with my big appetite for all things going on in the industry turned from random blurbs on Facebook to an unexpected but fun job. College student by day, movie news writer by early morning...or any time in the day and night when more news arrives. Working towards my bachelor's degree in film, what a surprise. I do other things too, like draw, write stories, maintain a social life and feed my pet dragon Lockheed. If you want to know more about me, hunt me down and just ask.
