Jackson could be doing Mortal Engines

Peter Jackson continues to fill up his slate full of projects as rumors swirl about that the director is taking on a novel adaptation of Mortal Engines. A spokesman for Jackson did not deny the project was on the books yesterday, but said “any comment should come from Peter” (Dominion Post). It sounds like this is in the middle of being negotiated in some form if nobody else is allowed to say anything that concerns with this project.

Jackson recently directed the upcoming novel adaptation of The Lovely Bones which stars Saoirse Ronan. He’s been working considerably with Guillermo Del Toro on putting together The Hobbit, better known as the prequel of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and is producing The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn.
