Is this the Super 8 monster?

As with Cloverfield, J.J. Abrams is keeping details on his latest film, Super 8, under-wraps. Abrams is using the same marketing campaign as well, and the only footage we’ve seen is from the trailer in front of Iron Man 2 back in May (here). It featured an unseen monster. Movie Web has now posted what is believed to be concept art of that monster.

It’s unknown just how legit this image is, but the amphibious characteristics of the creature seem to be go with one of the film’s viral sites, Hook, line, and sinker. There’s also the Paramount Pictures and Bad Robot logo at the bottom of the image that further indicate the image is real. However, it’s only concept art, and it could be from a while ago.

Super 8 opens on June 10, 2011.

  1. Hopefully he’ll give us all a break and 1. Hold the Camera steady! Even amatures don’t shoot that bad. 2. Feature a monster actually SEEN in the monster movie. He did an awesome job with Star Trek. Fingers are crossed.

I loved how he didn’t show the monster in the movie. It left the monster’s appearance to the audience’s imagination, then finally gave us our look at it.
