Is The Man of Steel moving faster than a speeding bullet?

Superman may have the ability to move faster than a speeding bullet, but production on a reboot has been slow. The film has been moving forward the last couple years, and all seemed well when Zack Snyder was announced to helm the film the other day. However, it seems he wasn’t the top choice, and the studio needed a director quickly.
According to Vulture, the script David Goyer had written for the film is “still a bit of a mess.” Warner Bros. may have just hired Snyder because he wouldn’t spend long fixing the script like Aronofsky would have because the studio doesn’t have the time to spend in pre-production. If WB doesn’t get The Man of Steel into production by next year, then they will lose the rights to character. A similar situation was seen when Sony began moving forward with Ghost Rider 2.
The loss of Superman would be a major problem for Warner Bros., especially if they ever plan to get a live-action Justice League off the ground. It’s seems odd that Goyer’s script turned out to be a mess when the reason Nolan was attached to “god-father” the film was because of Goyer’s take on Superman. But even Snyder mentioned the script needs to be tweaked, but WB believes he can get it done faster than Aronofsky. After many fans were disappointed by Singer’s Superman Returns, they’re hoping for a better film with this reboot. Fans are confident in the film with Nolan producing, but rushing a film has always shown to hurt films.
The Man of Steel is scheduled to open in December of 2012.
