Is Superman 2 dead?
After years now of waiting for a sequel to the under-rated Bryan Singer remake of Superman, it now seems Brandon Routh the man who is now Dylan Dog, is no longer under contract to portray the titular superhero. Â Routh revealed today to the folks over at ThinkMcFly that after waiting for such a long time to film a sequel to the moderately successful Superman film, that his contract to reprise the role has now expired. Â This does not mean he would not want to return to the character as he did say he would love to, he does admit though, with such a long wait in between films, he may be off the radar for Warner Bros. at the time being.
Here’s hoping Warner Bros. and DC get their acts together and have the film come to fruition once more but with all the problems of the first film fixed, with better and more action and a better villain. Â Not to say Kevin Spacey was an excellent villain, but his plot device was rather lame. Although the film’s visual effects remain some of the most beautifully done I have seen in quite some time, aside from the obvious religious under tones.
