Is Crank 3 happening?
Crank: High Voltage was a completely off-beat yet adrenaline pumped sequel that spawned from the twisted yet entertaining minds of Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. If you’ve seen the sequel to the 2006 feature Crank, you know exactly what happens to our hero-of-sorts Chev Chelios (played by Jason Statham) that could warrant a third film.
The Film Stage got to talk to the masterminds behind the two action packed feature and coughed it out of them the possibility of there being a Crank 3. Here’s more on what Brian Taylor, one of the directors, spewed out to them.:
It could, they’ve approached us for it and we wanna make another movie or two before that. We just don’t wanna run right into that. We’ve already got a story for Crank 3.
(laughs) No I can’t say what it is, but at some point when the money is there, when everyone wants to do it, and when Jason [Statham] has got a whole in his schedule. We definitely don’t want to do it next, we want to make another movie or two first. I think they’ll be a Crank 3 someday and I think it’ll be 3D.
There’s a good chance you’ll see it, but probably not for a year or so.
For those of you who’ve seen the two movies, does this seem like a good idea? Or were you one of those that could not take the over abundance of shaky cam within the second film and did not get into it as much as the first?
