Iron Man 2 might have special scene after credits

Remember the hype and talk after the credits of the first Iron Man film, when we saw Nick Fury (Sam L. Jackson) talking to Stark about “other” people like him and that he was forming a team? Marvel fans went crazy with the rare possibility of a studio actually linking their films together for form a nerdgasm of awesomeness. The following Marvel film, The Incredible Hulk featured Robert Downey Jr. in a cameo, furthering this linking of the comic characters.

Marvel has been, in our eyes, linking further Avenger characters through the Iron Man franchise. What would make Iron Man 2 any different? This Italian site called BadTaste has reported that after the credits of Iron Man 2, there is an extra scene involving cameos from Thor and Captain America!

“A 100% trusted source (NOT from the production/distribution, but very familiar with the movie) confirmed us today that there will be an easter egg in IM2. It’s an extra scene, just like the one in the first movie, after the end credits. We are able to tell you what’s about! It’s a scene about… Captain America and Thor! Maybe this doesn’t seem a big reveal, but it’s nice to have a confirmation.” (Translated from Italian to English).

Thor is scheduled to be released on May 20th, 2011, and is their next film for Marvel. Captain America, with the recent announcement of Chris Evans as the title hero, will be released July 22nd, 2011, and the Avengers is scheduled to assemble May 4th, 2012. I guess we will all known 100% for sure on May 7th, here in a few weeks. Remember the little background Easter Egg in the first Iron Man, where on a table Tony had an American Shield halfway completed? Iron Man 2 has a bigger role for Nick Fury and the Black Widow, both Avengers. Let the anticipation begin.
