Hudson and Carrey could be craving Butter

Production Weekly spewed out the latest on the upcoming Jim Field Smith directed flick Butter as they announce that Jim Carrey and Kate Hudson are circling around the picture, possibly latching onto it’s cast. Jennifer Garner is already part of the cast of the comedy penned by newcomer Jason A. Micallef.

The film is a comedy set in the Midwest U.S., where an adopted girl discovers her talent for butter carving and finds herself pitted against an ambitious local woman in their town’s annual contest. Michael De Luca is producing under his Michael De Luca Productions label. The Mandate Pictures feature has yet to announce it’s release date but is rumored to come out sometime in 2012, possibly earlier. Principal photography is already expected to start on April 17th in Shreveport, Louisiana.
