Howling Commandos in Captain America?

Devin Faraci over at CHUD stated that while he was at an Iron Man 2 press junket, he chatted with Marvel Studios Kevin Feige and he confirmed that The Howling Commandos will be in Captain America: The First Avenger. Who are the Howling Commandos, you might wonder. Time for a comic book history lesson:

First published in May 1963, Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos followed a pre-S.H.I.E.L.D. Fury and his ragtag group in WWII on various missions.  The series was drawn by the great Jack Kirby and written by Stan “The Man” Lee, lasting 163 issues.

Devin claims that they’ll be fighting along with Captain America (played by Chris Evans), but won’t be specially called out by name. Feige told him, “the characters will be there as part of the larger Marvel Universe.” Remember the film is a period piece taking place in the 1940′s, so don’t expect Sam Jackson’s Nick Fury to be there, as his Fury is part of the new, Ultimate Marvel Universe continuity. All in all, this is some really neat news for a film that should be as superb as Iron Man. Of course, we shall see.
