How bout some little Fockers?

Submitted by Daniel Herrera on February 19, 2009 – 2:00 pmNo Comment

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it seems the long gestating sequel to Meet the Fockers is finally coming underway.  Today we learn from THR that Robert DeNiro, Ben Stiller, and Owen Wilson have all been asked to join the cast for the next installment.  Though now word has come as of yet on any of the female leads aside from Barbara Streisand talking of her involvement in the film earlier this month at the International Herald Tribune .  With that said, it should be safe to assume that Teri Polo isn’t very busy at the moment and should be free to film the next film.

Sad news does come though, in the fact that Jay Roach will not in fact be directing the next film.  Roach had previously directed the first two films but will be busy shooting Dinner for Schmucks to do the Fockers.  Other directors being touted as possible replacements are: Paul Weitz of About a Boy fame,  David Wain of the hilarious Wet Hot American Summer, and Peyton Reed who most recently worked on the Jim Carrey vehicle Yes Man.
