House of the Wolf Man gets a DVD date
It has been pretty quite with this indie flick. The last I’ve heard of anything was back when Universal’s remake of the 1941 classic Wolf Man came out, that the film was going to play a few festivals. Even Rue Morgue, a Canadian horror magazine, covered it. What is it you say? It’s a lovingly attempted throwback to the glory days of the Universal Horror cannon monster mash ups like The House of Frankenstein or Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man , as it was shot in black and white, fullframe, and in mono sound. Oh, and it also stars Lon Chaney Jr.’s grandson, Ron Chaney. Check out the official site.

Not much else is known about House of the Wolf Man, although the trailer below sure makes it look like a handsome recreation of a bygone era in horror. Well, today we just learned from Steven Gorel that the film is heading to DVD on September 28th, 2010 from Taurus Entertainment/Ryko Video. Order it from Amazon here.
Told you it looks bad ass. More to come on this release soon, like cover art and possible extras.

I gotta get this! It’ll fit nicely next to all of my Universal Horror DVDs and the Creature from the Black Lagoon French one-sheets I have!
