Hopkins is in The Rite

The Rite grabs itself a lead actor as Anthony Hopkins signs on to star in the supernatural thriller. The New Line Cinema picture is being helmed by Mikael Hafstrom, who’s done other features like 1408 and Derailed. The adapted script is penned up by Michael Petroni who’s written up for films like The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Queen of the Damned and Possession.

Adapted from a book by Matt Baglio and based on true events, the story centers on a disillusioned American seminary student who attends exorcism school at the Vatican and ultimately finds his faith through encounters with demonic forces (Heat Vision Blog). Producing the film is Tripp Vinson and Beau Flynn under Contrafilm. You can still see Hopkins on the big screen alongside Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt and Hugo Weaving in The Wolfman.
