Hiddleston tackles the War Horse

Steven Spielberg’s War Horse continues on it’s casting rampage, but this time it’s more so speculation than anything else that Thor actor Tom Hiddleston will be climbing onboard the production. If that’s the case, he’d be joining Eddie Redmayne who’s already sunk his claws into the lead role.

The story, based off the novel by Michael Morpurgo, follows a young man named Albert whose beloved horse, Joey, is sold to the cavalry and sent off for active duty in World War I. Despite being too young to enlist, Albert heads to France to save his friend (The Wrap). Principal photography is poised to begin this August over in London in order to reach their 2011 release date.

Hiddleston will be getting his Norse god on in the Marvel Studios production of Thor. The Kenneth Branagh directed film has Hiddleston as the jealous and villainous brother Loki who’s hell bent on burying his brother Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth. The epic mythological comic book adapted feature comes out in theaters on May 6th, 2011.
