Hellraiser remake has its directors

Yes, you read that right. The Weinstein company’s Hellraiser has not one, but two directors finalized for the project. It was reported (here) the other day that Christian E. Christiansen (The Roommate) was the top choice to direct the film, but it seems he didn’t get the job. Bloody-Disgusting reports that Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer (Drive Angry 3D, My Bloody Valentine 3D) have signed on instead.

Fans are already groaning over the thought of seeing a remake to Clive Barker’s classic, and that it will possibly be looking to get a PG-13 rating. However, Lussier and Farmer have enough experience in horror to show respect to the character, and fans. The duo also have experience in writing horror, but it’s unknown if they wrote this film, but it’s a good possibility as their names seem to have come out of nowhere. And given the pair’s past work, you can most likely expect this film to be released in 3D.

There’s no word on whether or not the reports about Amber Heard coming on board are true, or who’ll portray the iconic cenobite, Pinhead, in the film either.
