Heigl is One for the Money

Submitted by Melissa Molina on February 9, 2010 – 2:05 pmNo Comment

Katherine Heigl signs on to star in the Columbia Pictures film One for the Money. In it, Heigl will play Stephanie Plum, an unemployed lingerie buyer who becomes a bounty hunter to make ends meet (Variety). The feature batted around another star previously before she dropped off, that being Reese Witherspoon who’s now attached to several projects that include Water for Elephants and Around the World in 80 Dates. One for the Money is based off a novel of the same name written by Janet Evanovich, this piece in particular being the first of many romantic adventures centering on Plum.

The project is under Columbia Pictures as well as Lakeshore Entertainment, with Gary Lucchesi and Tom Rosenberg both attached to produce along with Wendy Finerman. There is no director attached to this project at the moment, but the companies are on the hunt for one with Kristen Smith and Karen McCullah Lutz pen the script, adding Liz Brixius onboard to polish up their script.
