Heard and Pike entering First Class?

Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class continues on it’s casting role as rumors start to rise that Rosamund Pike and Amber Heard are being lured in to the reboot comic book film of sorts, reports Production Weekly (via Collider). The rumor that Pike was being eyeballed to take on the role of the seductive White Queen Emma Frost is false, but instead she could be putting on some specs if she chooses to be Moira MacTaggert. For those of you who aren’t too savvy with the X-Men universe, Moira is the former fiancĂŠe of Charles Xavier and later on created the Mutant Research Center on Muir Island.

Amber Heard is slinking her way into comic book territory as well with the rumor mill going ablaze that she could become the shape shifting Mystique. If that’s the case, this cast is shaping up to be quite good looking at least on paper for the time being. James McAvoy is attached, playing the young Charles Xavier who’s friendship with Erik Lehnsherr is ripped apart over their differing views on the mutant race that leads to the inevitable development of the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants. Jane Goldman is currently polishing up the latest version of the script written by Jamie Moss.

X-Men: First Class is expected to start principal photography possibly later this summer so they can reach their June 3rd, 2011 release date in time for Twentieth Century Fox.
