HBO greenlights a Scorsese produced TV Series

After a long start up, the new Martin Scorsese produced television series, Boardwalk Empire, is finally getting the go ahead with an approved 11 episode line-up!  The series will be set in the prohibition era 1920′s starring Steve Buscemi as the ruler of Atlantic City working as both politician and mobster.

Empire is set to begin production next fall and is being penned by The Sopranos scribe Terence Winter and is starring Michael Pitt, Kelly Macdonald, Stephen Graham, Michael Shannon, Shea Whigham, and Dabney Coleman.
