Harry Potter and the Midnight Opening King

That little dude with a lightning bolt on his forehead last night as just scored the highest grossing midnight release in history, beating the previous holders The Dark Knight that opened with a cool $18 million. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince opened it’s midnight showing to $22.2 million!

What to take from all of this? Three things: 1) Never under-estimate hype, 2) Warner Brother studio are geniuses, and 3) Recession over! Obama should thank Muggle Nation.
