Haneke takes on the internet

Funny Games director Michael Haneke is switching around what he wants to handle next. He previously was attached to helm a picture about humiliation and the physical deterioration of the aged, but Screen Daily reports that the director pulled out of the project. This apparently is due to the fact that once the director saw a Canadian film revolving around a similiar topic, he decided to completely ditch it.

Now talk is swirling about that The White Ribbon director is taking on a different film altogether that revolves around the internet, said to be shot in different locations around the world. The feature is to be handled under Les Films Du Losange with a script that should be completed later on during this year. The White Ribbon got it’s expected recognition from the Academy this year for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards. The two categories the film was nominated for was not only Best Foreign Language Film but also Best Cinematography.
