Gunn goes after the Smurfs

Well, not really, but he’s the latest to join on the live action portion of the cast for Raja Gosnell’s The Smurfs. In the feature, Project Runway judge Tim Gunn will play an executive assistant at a major cosmetic company, says Variety. He joins up on the live action portion of the cast that already includes Neil Patrick Harris, Hank Azaria and Sofía Vergara. Those who are on the voice portion of the cast include Jonathan Winters, Anton Yelchin, Alan Cumming, Katy Perry, Paul Reubens, Fred Armisen and George Lopez.

Filming is currently underway in New York City with a story revolving around the little Smurfs being driven out of their home by the even Gargamel (Azaria) only to be lost in the mysterious realm of…Central Park. The Smurfs comes out in theaters on July 29th, 2011.
