Ginnifer Goodwin is signing on to star in the upcoming romance feature Something Borrowed. The picture is being directed by The Girl Next Door helmer Luke Greenfield and is written by Jennie Snyder and Jennie Urman. The story revolves around a Manhattan attorney who becomes involved with her best friend’s fiance following her 30th birthday (Variety). Something Borrowed is a novel adaptation of a book that came out in 2004 written by Emily Giffin.

Producing under Alcon Entertainment is Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove with Molly Smith and Hilary Swank in the same role as well. Principal photography is expected to commence within the spring and summer of this year, setting themselves up for a to-be-announced 2011 release date. Goodwin was just recently seen on the big screen in a minor role in the Tom Ford directed feature A Single Man and can be seen every Sunday night on HBO in the hit show Big Love.
