Gone With The Wind tops the highest grossing films of all time

Submitted by Daniel Herrera on February 1, 2009 – 3:30 pmOne Comment

This weekend the folks over at IMDB released a new list featuring the highest grossing films of all time adjusted for inflation. Not surprisingly Gone With The Wind trumps em all, even though many assume box office winner Titanic to take the cake.  These numbers combine both box office ’success’ as well as DVD/Video sales which is why you are seeing so many Disney films make the list, as it figures a cumulative gross over all.   Also of note is that these figures are totals for the U.S. only and do not include over seas totals which can totally change the game, I mean look at this years mammoth hit Mamma Mia which domestically only made 144 million while over seas made 429 million dollars and is the highest grossing film in Europe.

1 – Gone With the Wind ($1.75 billion)
