Gillespie grabs onto Fright Night

Okay, I know that we previously reported that Craig Gillespie was circling around helming the remake of Fright Night, but Variety confirms that film/television director will be in fact taking it on. Marti Noxon is still putting together the script for DreamWorks with Michael Gaeta, Michael De Luca and Alison Rosenzweig producing the picture.

Fright Night is a horror comedy released in 1985 that was written and directed by Tom Holland. The film stars William Ragsdale as Charlie Brewster, a teenager who’s convinced that his new next door neighbor Jerry Dandrige (Chris Sarandon) is a vampire, but unfortunately nobody believes him. The Fright Night remake is expeceted to be released sometime in 2011.
