George Strait returns to Pure Country

Submitted by Daniel Herrera on November 17, 2009 – 12:43 amNo Comment

After nearly 17 years since the film’s release, country music star George Strait has agreed to step back in front of the camera for a sequel to his 1992 hit film Pure Country. Under the new title of A Pure Country Gift, the film will again be helmed by the film’s original director Christopher Cain who also wrote the script with son and former Superman Dean Cain.

The film, though vague in its description, is about three angels who give the gift of a beautiful singing voice to a baby girl. “In her climb to fame and fortune, she breaks some of the angels’ rules, so they take away her big voice. Life has rules; if you follow them, life works. That’s the moral of the story.”-per Christopher Cain.

The movie still has no release date but is currently filming in Nashville.
