redford-robertRobert Redford sets together a huge cast for his latest film “The Conspirator”. Assembling together a cast that includes Evan Rachel Wood, Kevin Kline, Tom Wilkinson, and Alexis Biedel, these actors join up with James McAvoy and Robin Wright-Penn. This feature, which is under The American Film Company, is being directed by Robert Redford and is penned by James D. Solomon.

Wright Penn plays Mary Surratt, the only female charged in the conspiracy to kill the president, and McAvoy plays Frederick Aiken, the war hero assigned to defend her. Wilkinson will play Reverdy Johnson, the former attorney general who as a U.S. senator is the mentor to the young lawyer and sympathetic to Surratt. Wood plays Surratt’s daughter, Anna, and Kline plays Lincoln’s War Secretary Edwin Stanton. Bledel plays Aiken’s wife, Sarah Weston (Variety). Producing is Redford himself along with Greg Shapiro who’s previous credits include Kathryn Bigelow’s “The Hurt Locker”.
